About

As of the 3rd March 2009, ATM fee reforms were instituted in Australia. These allow ATM owners to directly charge ATM users (you) for the use of their ’foreign’ ATM. It also allows your home bank to charge you a fee to process your foreign ATM usage. These fees are separate to your normal transaction fees that show up on your bank statement.

We here at ATM Fee Tracker Australia aim to keep you informed of the costs associated with making ATM transactions when you cannot use you home institution’s ATM facilities and are forced to use a ‘foreign’ ATM. These costs include both the ATM operators ‘direct charge’ and the processing fee (often referred to as a ‘disloyalty’ fee) that your home institution applies to these transactions.
